Knitted fabrics dyeing and ennoblement
Stellatex was born in 1950s when Stella Rustichelli started her working activity in a little laundry, where, with rudimentary machines, she dyed in black military uniforms to be able to reuse them. Between the 1960s and 1970s, during the economic boom, under the leadership of Stella’s sons Franco and Giorgio, the mill grew up gradually until being divided into two separate establishments: One is dedicated to fabric’s washings and dyeing (Carpi), the other to fabric’s ennoblement (Limidi di Soliera).
Nowadays Stellatex is ruled by the four Franco and Giorgio’s daughters, creating a real feminine association: Doriana, Milena, Paola and Rossella represent the third generation of a family which made of her own the great tradition of Carpi for knitwear and woven fabrics in particular.
Today Stellatex’s establishments takes more than 6000 square metres, but , despite dimension ,the processes are still made handicraft even if trough the newest technologies, taking care of each roll of fabric and trying to increase as much as possible the quality of the product. Stellatex in fact choose to privilege customers with a high and luxury product in opposition to the homologation and low quality of Asiatic new manufacturers. Stellatex moreover constantly glances at research and development of new effects and hand for fabrics and at the experimentation of new technologies in order to satisfy the most innovative customers.
Since 2006, after having received ICEA certification, Stellatex entered in AIAB System for certification of Bio-Textile, which from 2008 was extended and replaced by the “Global Organic Standard “ GOTS. This certification is the only one officially recognized all over the world.
That’s a real innovation because it adds to previously bio-certified firms the first mill which dyes in roll, which is knitted fabric before being cut and manufactured, so completing the bio-weaving factory.
Stellatex also participates in the VIS - Vestire In Salute project of fabrics in hypoallergenic cotton.
